RAVENSWOOD — Irving Park Road will be closed in both directions at Ravenswood Avenue from Tuesday to Friday and again on Aug. 15.
In addition, the 47th Ward office notified residents to expect partial lane restrictions at the same intersection through Aug. 30.
The blockages are due to the ongoing Metra-Union Pacific infrastructure upgrade. The eight-year, $225-million project includes construction of a new station at Lawrence and Ravenswood avenues as well as the replacement of 11 bridges between Balmoral and Grace avenues.
Construction is expected to wrap up in 2019.
