Englewood Man Dies Three Days After Being Shot on His Front Porch

CHICAGO — An Englewood man died Friday three days after he was shot on his front porch, authorities said.

Devonte Pearson, 20, of the 5700 block of South Carpenter Street, was shot in his right shoulder while he was standing with a group at his home about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and no one has been arrested for the shooting.

Pearson was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, which said he was pronounced dead at Stroger at 1:50 p.m. Friday.
