CHICAGO — One man was killed and at least four other people, including a 16-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings since 3 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Andre Bunton, 37, of the 14300 block of Lincoln Avenue in south suburban Dolton, was shot dead in the South Loop about 11:25 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Bunton had been sitting in a car in the 200 block of East 15th Place when someone approached and shot him in his chest, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman. Bunton tried to drive away, but crashed after hitting two other cars.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

In nonfatal shootings:

• A 16-year-old boy was shot in his chest while in the 6200 block of South Justine Street in Englewood about 4:25 a.m. Friday, Estrada said. After the shots were fired from a purple van, the boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.

• In Woodlawn, a 26-year-old man was shot in his lower right leg while he was standing on a porch in the 6200 block of South Eberhart Avenue about 1:30 a.m., Estrada said. The man walked into Advocate Trinity Hospital and is in good condition.

• A couple blocks away from the shooting of the teenager, a 24-year-old man was shot in his right ankle in West Englewood, Estrada said. The man was standing in the 6200 block of South Paulina Street when two men jumped out of a white van and began shooting about 12:45 a.m. Friday. The man was treated at Saint Bernard Hospital and was listed in good condition.

• In Logan Square, a 22-year-old man was shot in his leg at 3:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Allen Avenue, Estrada said. He's in good condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
