CHICAGO — A man wearing a tank top allegedly beat a Portage Park store clerk with a baseball bat after he was told the store didn't have XXXL tank tops, police said.

The man asked for the extra large-sized shirts at a store in the 5500 block of West Belmont Avenue about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

When the employee said the store didn't have the shirts, the man beat the employee with a baseball bat and fled, police said.

The store worker was treated and released from Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center with a cut to his head, police said.

The wanted man is described as black, 23 to 30 years old, 5-feet-8 to 6-feet tall and 200 to 250 pounds.

He was wearing a red bandanna and white tank top and had brown eyes and black hair, police said.
