CHICAGO — A 72-year-old man was wounded Monday when he was shot during an armed robbery in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

Three men robbed a business in the 200 block of East 69th Street about 12:30 p.m. Monday, said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman.

During the robbery, a 72-year-old bystander was shot in his leg. He was treated at Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in "stable" condition Monday afternoon, police said.

According to witnesses, all three robbers were black men. One wore a black hoodie and mask, one donned an all-grey sweat suit, and the third wore a brown hoodie and white mask, O'Brien said.

All three men fled the scene.

Further details were not immediately available.
