COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 24-year-old woman was kidnapped from a West Side gas station by an armed teenager calling himself "Denzel Washington," prosecutors said.
Perry Wilkerson, 16, is charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking, robbery and kidnapping for jumping into the passenger seat of the woman's car in the first block of North Kilbourn Street on March 3, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Melissa Samp said.
He held a gray semi-automatic pistol to her head and said "I'm Denzel Washington, bitch. Now drive," Samp said. The woman complied, but as she drove, she saw Wilkerson with the gun in his lap, "attempting to put the clip in," Samp said.
The woman slowed down to about 10 mph and jumped out of the car, Samp said. Wilkerson made it into the driver's seat and sped away.
Wilkerson, who served a year on juvenile probation for drug possession, is a student at Marshall High School, where he plays basketball and gets A's and B's in his classes, the teen's attorney said.
