CHICAGO — A 16-year-old Gage Park High School student was sexually abused by two classmates in a women’s bathroom Tuesday, police said.

According to officer Robert Perez, a police spokesman, the girl was in the women’s washroom at Gage Park, 5630 S. Rockwell St., about 1 p.m. when two boys, ages 15 and 16, approached her.

The boys made advances toward the girl and touched her inappropriately, Perez said. But they ran off after they were spooked when they heard voices and footsteps near the bathroom door, Perez said.

Chicago Lawn police caught the boys Tuesday after the girl reported the crime to school officials and identified them as classmates, Perez said.

The boys have been charged as juveniles with misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse of a person under 17, Perez said.
