RIVER NORTH — If you love "Liar, Liar" but loathe "Dodgeball," now's the time to speak up.

The River North Residents' Association is seeking community input on the lineup for its summer 2013 "Movies in the Park" series.

Sponsored by the association and coordinated by the Chicago Park District, the series has been bringing recently-released films to the riverfront A. Montgomery Ward Park since 2006. On Monday, the residents' group launched an online survey seeking community votes on the movie lineup.

"It's like a block party, it really is," said Paulette Rodriguez, vice president of the association. "It's a great amenity. We have this beautiful park, so we try to take advantage of it as much as we can."

River North residents are encouraged to vote for their movie preferences in the association's online survey, which will be open through March 15.

Movies featured in the survey include action flicks such as "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," "Modern Classics" such as "Back to the Future" and "Big," and "Family Fun Night" options including "Madagascar 3" and "Paranorman."

"We try to make a good selection each year," Rodriguez said. "We get a nice assortment, and we always have one [movie] for the younger people."

Films start around sunset, and moviegoers will be provided printed programs and trash bags. Popcorn will be available and picnic dinners are encouraged, but alcohol is not allowed on park property.
