CHICAGO — A man's body was extracted from frozen ice in the Marquette Park Lagoon Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
About 1 p.m., the 56-year-old man's body was pulled from the lagoon in the 6700 block of South Kedzie Avenue by the Police Marine Unit, police said.
The man was later identified as Javier Barragan, of the 6300 block of South Sacramento Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
He was pronounced at the medical examiner's office at 2:35 p.m.
The incident is being pursued as a death investigation, police said.
