ROGERS PARK — A Loyola University student was held up at gunpoint late Tuesday while walking north of campus, officials said.

Two gunmen approached the woman near the intersection of North Shore Avenue and Lakewood Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and flashed a silver handgun. They took her cell phone and money, said Robert Fine, director of campus safety.

The robbers fled the scene. The student was not hurt in the incident.

"We’ll work with the Chicago police" to apprehend the robbers, Fine said Wednesday afternoon.

Fine cautioned students to avoid walking alone when off campus.
