Police Investigate Death of 92-Year-Old Woman

Police said they are investigating the death of an elderly woman from Chicago's Heart of Italy.

CHICAGO — Authorities said they are investigating the death of a 92-year-old Heart of Italy woman.

Family found Domenica Brandonisio inside her home in the 2200 block of West 24th Street, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Brandonisio was taken to St. Anthony Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 1 a.m Sunday, the medical examiner's office said. 

Police said they were investigating Brandonisio's death and were awaiting autopsy results. It was not clear what led to the investigation.
