HEART OF CHICAGO — A man was killed Tuesday morning when the SUV he was riding in jumped the curb and collided with a pole, police said.
The unidentified man was the passenger in the red SUV that struck the pole in the 2400 block of South Damon Avenue at about 4:30 a.m., police said.
He wasn't wearing his seatbelt, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The driver and other passengers fled the scene, police and officials said.
