DAVIDsTea Shop Opens in Bucktown

By Alisa Hauser | October 18, 2012 11:38am

BUCKTOWN — Just in time for the weather to turn, Canadian tea emporium DAVIDsTea opened on a busy stretch of Damen Avenue.

The storefront, south of Milwaukee-Damen-North intersection, sells loose leaf tea by the ounce as well as in to-go cups, along with 150 varieties of tea.

The store also has plenty of beverage-related merchandise, such as steel cups, electric cordless water kettles and even cocktail recipe kits for those who prefer a beverage with a little more bite.

Neighboring business owner Tami Conway of The Daily Method was among the shop's first customers and sampling a shot of tea-of-the-day Mulberry Magic.

"This is really great," she said.

Next in the pipeline for the fast growing chain is a Lincoln Park outpost at 3530 N. Southport, scheduled to open Dec. 10. An Old Town location at 922 W. Armitage hopes to open sometime in December, according to a spokeswoman.

The hours at DAVIDsTea Bucktown (1645 N. Damen Ave., 773-697-9737) are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
