Several Chicagoans have been asked to help go through proposals from seven architects.

Parks groups are anticipating copious state reviews if Obama chooses a South Side park for his library.

North Lawndale leaders had a message for the Obama Library Foundation Thursday: "We're here."

Aldermen supported using park land for the library Wednesday as Olmsted groups panned the proposal.

The city scheduled public meetings to discuss the Obama library locating at two South Side locations.

The U. of C. proposal could endanger the city's first arboretum and 143-year-old oak trees.

The UIC/North Lawndale proposal calls for a bridge of green space to be developed over the expressway.

Possible sites are near Jackson Park, Washington Park, South Shore Cultural Center and North Lawndale.

"It wouldn't make sense for this library to be anywhere else," said the Grammy-winning rapper.
