The 1st Ward debate is set for 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Wells High School, 639 N. Ashland Ave. in West Town.

Aldermanic candidate Stacey Pfingsten also previously worked for Waguespack, an influential progressive.

The event, which takes place Thursday night, revisits the media coverage of CPS school closings.

But Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Barbara Byrd-Bennett said they're still "scrubbing the data" for hard numbers.

"I'm welcoming him to the public transportation system and the roads here," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said.
