"No one person can lay claim for this success," said Principal Nel Mullens. "It belongs to everybody."

The project will include a bike rack and a "people space" with tables at Devon and Kinzua avenues.

The project is being funded through a $75,000 transportation grant from Cook County.

Officials will hold a "town hall" at the school to discuss the project at 6 p.m. Monday.

Now tax scavengers can pounce on homeowners past due on their bills in just 90 days.   

"The beaches are safe," said Chicago Police Deputy Supt. Kevin Navarro.    

The two-year program provides students with a salary, benefits and a job upon completion.
