Wicker Punk Ball at Double Door

A live art installation, circus acts from the Midnight Circus and punk rock karaoke with a guest appearance by Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) are planned for the Wicker Punk Ball from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Hosted by 1st Ward First, an independent democratic organization that promises "no stodgy old man politics" in the event's Facebook invite, the evening will give attendees an opportunity to rock out and raise money for local candidates as well as schools and literary nonprofit such as 826CHI, to which 25 percent of proceeds will be given.
