Voices Against Brain Cancer is hosting its first 5k run/walk in Lincoln Park to honor brain cancer survivors, their families and caregivers.

The event kicks off at the south field house in Lincoln Park at 9 a.m.

Honorees at the event are 2013 Gary Lichtenstein Humanitarian Award Winners: M. Kelly Nicholas, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Neurology and Surgery, The University of Chicago; and Robert D. Aiken, MD, Director, Section of Neuro-Oncology, Rush University Medical Center; and 2013 Compassionate Caregiver Award winner Laura Zuckerman, APN-BC, Rush University Medical Center.

The run is $25 for adults, and the kids races are $10.
