Chicago-based poets Jen Besemer, Robert McDonald, and Richard Fox will read their poetry at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at City Lit Books, 2523 N. Kedzie Blvd.

About the Authors:
Jen Besemer is the author of several electronic and print poetry chapbooks and books, including "What Is Born," "Quiet Vertical Movements," "Ten Word Problems," "Telephone" and "Object with Man’s Face" (the latter two forthcoming in late 2013).

Robert McDonald's poetry has appeared in Court Green, Sentence, PANK, kill author, The New York Quarterly, and The Logan Square Literary Review, among many others.

Richard Fox has contributed work to many literary journals. "Swagger & Remorse," his first book of poetry, was published in December, 2007. He holds a BFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, and lives in Chicago.

Richard Fox’s poems are meditations upon faith and man's trust in human possibility, as well as the potential loss of both. Using fragments of prayer, ecstasy and regret Fox’s poetry asks the reader to recognize that while he may look to the constellations above, he must always walk the earth beneath.
