Veterans from the Vietnam and Post-Vietnam eras are invited to participate in a discussion that covers military necessity, self-preservation, citizenship and gender, among other topics.

In addition to the discussion, there will be an installation highlighting the perspective of African-Americans who served in the military. The installation features historical and political maps, archival photographs, legal and personal documents, stories, and objects that correspond to the Civil War, World War II, Vietnam War, and the War on Terror.

The event will be held at the UIC African-American Cultural Center at 830 S. Halsted St., Adams Hall, Rm. 209. Admission is free. Call 312-996-9549.
