Andrei Lankov, a professor at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea, will discuss contemporary society in North Korea and sign copies of his new book, "The Real North Korea: Life and Politics in the Failed Stalinist Utopia."

Lankin is a historian of North Korea and lived in the the enigmatic country in the 1980s as an exchange student from the former Soviet Union.

The event at the Seminary Co-op Bookstore, 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave., is presented as part of the World Beyond the Headline lecture series at the University of Chicago.
