Ald. Joe Moore said he's considering a proposed zoning change at 7255 N. Bell Ave. that would allow for the residential building to add basement units. Moore said if approved the units would be rented at below-market levels for 10 years.
"The building rests on a 6,250 square-foot lot. The proposal requires a zoning change on the property from its current classification, RT-4, which allows one dwelling unit for every 1,000 square feet of lot area, to RM-4.5, which allows one dwelling unit for every 700 square feet of lot area," Moore wrote to constituents.
Marty Cerny of Housing Plus, LLC, and Andy Ahitow, one of the owners of the property, will present their plans and respond to to questions at a public meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the St. Margaret Mary's Activity Center, 7341 N. Claremont Ave.
