Uptown is one of the neighborhoods participating this weekend in Open House Chicago, a Chicago Architecture Foundation event that offers a "behind-the-scenes look at many of the city’s great places and spaces," according to the event website.

The event runs Oct. 19-20 and is free.

The event will highlight various historic structures, including the Preston Bradley Center, former silent film studio Essanay Studios, and "one of Chicago's grandest synagogues," Agudas Achim North Shore Congregation, according to the event website.
