Parents, teachers, students, activists and others will be marching on the North Side in protest of school closings at Trumbull, Stockton and Stewart elementary schools proposed by Chicago Public Schools.

The demonstration is the North Side leg of the three-day Long March for Education Justice planned by the Chicago Teachers Union. Marchers are scheduled to meet at Trumbull, 5200 N. Ashland Ave., at 1 p.m. Activists with North Side Save Our Schools are helping organize the demonstration.

On Monday, school closing opponents also plan to load supporters on buses that will leave from Trumbull and Stewart schools and travel south for a 4 p.m. rally at Daley Plaza — where they will join a much bigger party attended by protestors from across Chicago.
