NMIA has booked as its guest speaker Joseph Schwieterman, professor and director of DePaul University's Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development.

Schwieterman will talk about sustainable communities and what it takes to build vibrant business districts while balancing a variety of competing interests at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Gompers Park Fieldhouse, 4222 W. Foster Ave.

A Q&A will follow the presentation.

Results of January's "needs assessment" are also expected to be shared at the meeting, in addition to a brief discussion of the Gompers Park Framework Plan.

NMIA's boundaries are Pulaski Road, Cicero Avenue, Lawrence Avenue and Bryn Mawr Avenue. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month except for July and August.
