The Chicago Public Library celebrates Women's History Month with a series of PBS Point of View documentaries.

The Budlong Woods branch will screen "The Light in Her Eyes" on March 13, 6:30 p.m.

Shot in Syria between 2008-10, "The Light in Her Eyes" documents the work of Houda al-Habash, who founded a Qur’an school for girls in Damascus. The film provides a look at efforts to educate women within the confines of conservative Islam and also offers a snapshot of modern-day Syria just before the current uprising.

This event is presented as a collaboration with POV, PBS’ award-winning nonfiction film series. For more information about the POV film series, visit http://www.pbs.org/pov/.
