Come out and enjoy North Park Village Nature Center's sweetest tradition, the annual Maple Syrup Festival, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, 5801 N. Pulaski Rd.

This free event features storytelling, crafts, a demonstration of the maple syrup-making process and a taste of real maple syrup straight from the fire.

Though the festival only dates back to the 1980s, the park's trees, which are tapped for their syrup, were planted more than a century ago.
