The Low Line Market, a farmers market new to Lakeview in 2013, opens June 6 and runs through Oct. 17.

The Thursday evening market beneath the Southport Brown Line "L" stop will run through Oct. 17. Hours will be from 4-8 p.m. until Sept. 5. Hours switch to 4-7 p.m. from Sept. 12 through Oct. 17.

The name “Low Line” is a twist on New York City’s “High Line,” a park built on a historic elevated train rail. Run by the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce, the local special service tax area and a newly formed group called Friends of Lakeview, the market seeks to bring local producers to the neighborhood.
