As part of UIC's "Making Truths" series, documentarian John Biewen and scholar Patricia Norby will discuss the Dakota War, in addition to various forms they use to explore history.
Audience members will listen to portions of the award-winning audio documentary "Little War on the Prairie," and use it to spark conversation around the transparency with which the U.S. government presents its own atrocities against Native Americans.
The event, at Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, 800 S. Halsted St., is free and open to the public.
