No Dorothy, you haven't landed in Oz. Giddings Plaza might look like Munchkinland, but it's just Kids in the Square, a family-friendly event that gives little ones the run of Lincoln Square for the day.

The fun starts at 9 a.m. May 11 and doesn't stop until 2 p.m. The main events are centered in Giddings Plaza but activities are also scheduled to take place at various businesses along Lincoln, Damen, Rockwell and Montrose avenues.

Highlights include a free screening of "Rango" at 9 a.m. at the Davis Theater, Soda Camp science experiments (picture exploding soda pop), make your own candy necklaces and a teddy bear picnic!

Kids in the Square is free and open to all.
