Chicago award-winning poet Kevin Coval, who founded “Louder Than a Bomb: The Chicago Youth Poetry Festival," will read from his new book "Schtick: these are the poems, people," at the UP Comedy Club.
Coval will sign copies of the book at the party, which is free.
His earlier book "Slingshots: A Hip-Hop Poetica," was a finalist for the American Library Association's Book-of-the-Year award. Coval also serves as Artistic Director of Young Chicago Authors as well as Louder Than a Bomb.
The event starts at 7:30 p.m.
