A look at Chicago artist Jose Gamaliel Gonzalez's art and activism from the 1970s and 80s. A CD of Gonzalez's work — produced and edited by Marc Zimmerman and designed by Alex Magaña — will also be available at the opening.

The CD contains many of Gonzalez's works in color, pages from several of his publications, newspaper articles and key documents that relate to his efforts to establish a cultural center, his struggles over the national CARA show and other issues.

The event is free and light refreshments will be served. The show runs through Aug. 25.
