Chicago Park District historian and preservationist Julia S. Bachrach will present an admission-free overview of her recently published second edition of "The City in a Garden, A History of Chicago’s Parks" at Warren Park.

Her book illuminates Chicago’s 175-year commitment to its public parks. With historical plans, photographs and drawings, it explores how luminaries such as architect Daniel Burnham, landscape architect and conservationist Jens Jensen, and social reformer Jane Addams shaped and influenced the city's green spaces. Books will be sold for $30, and a book signing will follow the lecture.
