There's more to Christmas music than "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." VOX 3 Collective's winter concert "Half-Spent Was the Night: Stories of Christmas and Winter" ventures well beyond the standard holiday fare, featuring rare duets for voice and organ, contemplative melodies and jolly tunes.
The choral group will appear at a free holiday show, 2 p.m., Dec. 15, at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 3938 W. Belle Plaine Ave. A reception with the artists will follow the concert.
The concert is being sponsored by the Irving Park Fine Arts Committee, which has been presenting free professional classical music events for 19 seasons.
