CHIRP's three-year-old "The First Time" series returns to Martyr's with an all new lineup of guests reading original works based on the theme of "first lesson," 8 p.m., 3855 N. Lincoln Ave.
Each reading is followed by a song that relates to the story, played live by The First Time Three — musicians, Steve Frisbie, Liam Davis and Gerald Dowd.

The host for the evening is Moth Story Slam winner and CHIRP DJ Jenn Sodini. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance.
