Darwin Day, held to mark the Feb. 12 birthday of Charles Darwin, is a celebration of the scientist's contributions to humanity. St. John's Episcopal Church is hosting an event that focuses on the evolution of the human body at 7 p.m. Feb. 8, 3849 N. Kostner Ave.

Participants include artists Susan Volk and Michael Montenegro, as well as author Jonathan Black, whose book, "Making of the American Body," looks at the men and women who shaped fitness history.

Appetizers and drinks will be served. The event is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted. RSVP to info@stjohnschicago.com.
