The Northwest Chicago Film Society at the Portage Theater will present "City of Fear" from 1959. The low-budget film noir, to be shown in 35mm, is about a nuclear device in the care of an unwitting low-level Los Angeles gangster. The film is a follow-up to director Irving Lerner and star Vince Edward's assassin saga, "Murder by Contract." It will be shown with two short films: "A Place to Live" (Irving Lerner, 1941) and "Muscle Beach" (Irving Lerner and Joseph Strick, 1948) from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
