Love music? Love radio? A volunteer gig with CHIRP Radio sounds like just the non-paying job for you. Find out how to become a part of CHIRP's team at a new volunteer orientation session, 12:30-2:30 p.m., June 8, at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4544 N. Lincoln Ave.

An independent music and arts-focused community radio station, CHIRP operates under a part-time general manager with the help of more than 150 volunteers, who come from all walks of life.

Volunteers head up and staff all of the station's departments. There are opportunities to become a DJ or reporter, to help with marketing or fundraising or put your technical skills to use. No prior radio experience is required.
