Cabbage Bun Saturday at 'Cornhuskers' Bar

Division Ale House at 1942 W. Division St. in Wicker Park has announced its allegiance to the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers during college football season.

Elk Creek cocktails, a popular Nebraska drink made with vodka, gin, triple sec, orange juice and lemon-lime soda, will be served as a Saturday special ($6) with a Saturday prix fixe brunch ($26). from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. every Saturday during football season.

Additionally, the bar now offers a homemade barbecue pulled pork cabbage bun by chef Jim Foltice consisting of house-smoked pulled pork shoulder and house-made barbecue sauce.

Also known as bierocks or cabbage buns, the stuffed bread pockets usually contain seasoned ground beef, onions and cabbage. The buns are available in pulled pork and corned beef varieties and offered every Saturday for $8.99 with choice of side.
