Supporters of a city plan that would bring a high-speed bus to Ashland Avenue will rally at Dusek's basement bar the Punch House before continuing on to Benito Juarez Community Academy for a public hearing on the bus plan.

Potential environmental impacts will be presented at Tuesday's meeting at Juarez, 1450 W. Cermak Road. Public comment will be available at the meeting.

Currently, the proposed express bus would run along the center of Ashland Avenue. According to the city, the plan would increase bus speeds by more than 80 percent during peak travel times. The proposed design includes limited bus stops every half mile and at CTA rail stations, traffic signal priority for buses at intersections and new bus stops.
