A lecture, "Restoring a Landmark: The Art, Architecture and Immigrant History of St. John Cantius" is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the Harold Washington Library's Cindy Pritzker Auditorium, 400 S. State St.

Founded in 1893 to serve the Polish immigrant community, St. John Cantius Church at 825 N. Carpenter St. in West Town, has undergone extensive restoration since the 1980s.

Deacon Joshua Caswell, SJC, will presents the story of the church’s renaissance, restoration and impact on the surrounding community.
