To celebrate its first anniversary, Albany Park Neighbors is throwing itself a ... meeting.

Join the group at 7 p.m., Oct. 14, at Modelo Club, 3548 W. Lawrence Ave. — food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The main item on the agenda is a presentation by Ryan Wilson from the Center for Neighborhood Technology, a think tank dedicated to issues of sustainability, particularly in the areas of climate, energy, water, transportation and community development.

Wilson will discuss the center's Wetrofit program, which is currently looking for homeowners to participate in its pilot phase. Wetrofit will help homeowners identify low-cost, effective solutions to their flooding problems and provide support to those willing to invest in flood prevention measures.

Albany Park Neighbors represents residents who live within the boundaries of Pulaski, Kedzie, Foster and Montrose.
