Rescheduled from earlier in January, this month's meeting of Albany Park Neighbors will tackle a pair of zoning issues: the new owner of Foremost Liquor on Kedzie Avenue and discussion of a possible public place of amusement license for Tortuga's on Lawrence Avenue.
Upcoming local school council elections are also on the agenda. Voting will take place in April, with candidate filing due by February. LSCs make a number of important decisions, including approving a school's budget and hiring and evaluating principals. The councils consist of teachers, parents and community members. At APN's meeting, a community LSC representative will talk about their role on the council.
