Run or walk for a good cause on Sunday, Oct. 20. Ald. Pat O'Connor (40th) is sponsoring the event, which benefits Goldie's Place, a support center for homeless people. Services include employability training and job placement.
The race kicks off at 8 a.m. at the intersection of Bryn Mawr and Kedzie avenues. Race day registration opens at 7 a.m. at Northside College Prep, 5501 N. Kedzie Ave.
The registration fee is $30 in advance (sign up here) or $35 the day of the race. Students with a valid ID can participate for just $15.
