Hearkening back to an earlier era of entertainment, Strawdog Theatre Company and Access Contemporary Music are partnering on a one-night only radio play production of "1,001 Afternoons in Chicago," based on a series of stories by famed Chicago journalist Ben Hecht.

Strawdog is handling the adaptation and narration, ACM's Seth Boustead and Amos Gillespie have composed new music for the play.

The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m., May 21, at Architectural Artifacts, 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $20 at the door and $8 for students and seniors.

Access Contemporary Music, 1758 W. Wilson Ave., is a non-profit organization that focuses on keeping classical music alive by reaching new audiences through education and performances.
