BRIDGEPORT — Families who don't want to go door-to-door trick-or-treating can instead head to Armour Elementary Tuesday for a different take on the holiday tradition.

Armour Elementary, 950 W. 33rd St., will host its "Trunk or Treat" event from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the school's parking lot.

A trunk-or-treat event is where adults decorate the trunks of their cars in Halloween themes and let kids stop by and trick-or-treat out of them. The events have been gaining in popularity in recent years as a safer alternative to knocking on unknown doors while trick-or-treating.

Armour's event will feature prizes, games and trick-or-treating for kids, who are asked to come in their costumes. The event is being put on by the Park Community Church, which meets at Armour School. For more information, click here.
