Man Tried To Lure Girls, 11 And 12, In Grand Crossing, Police Say

GRAND CROSSING — Police have put out an alert after a man tried to lure two girls, 11 and 12, on Saturday in Grand Crossing.

The girls were walking in the 6900 block of South Merrill Avenue at 2 p.m. when they were stopped by a man in a car who asked them for directions. They ignored him and walked away, police said.

That's when the man attempted to engage with them a second time, frightening the girls, police said.

The man then left them alone and headed east on 69th Street.

The man was described as black, in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing a black-and white-hat and with a beard. He was driving a green four-door car, police said.

Police ask anyone with information was asked to call detectives at 312-747-8380.
