CHICAGO — A South Chicago man was charged with sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint earlier this month, police said.

Christian Origel, 22, of the 11200 block of South Green Bay Avenue, was arrested Friday night in the Oct. 12 incident, police said.

At 11:35 p.m. Oct. 12, an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in the 10500 block of South Ewing Avenue at 11:35 p.m., according to police.

The woman was abducted from the block then sexually assaulted at another location. She was later driven in a dark-colored SUV back to 106th and Ewing, where she was dropped off, according to a community alert issued by police.

Origel was arrested in the 6900 block of South Stony Island Avenue after detectives identified him as the attacker, police said.
