CHICAGO — From cake-decorating to discounted treats, Eli's Cheesecake Co., 6701 W. Forest Preserve Drive, is packing Halloween weekend with holiday promotions.

• From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, the bakery will host mini-cheesecake decorating, when visitors can buy slices for $3.50 and transform them into a "a cute, scary or spooky jack-o-lantern with sprinkles, frosting and other treats," according to an event description.

• From 1-2 p.m. Sunday, residents can play Cheesecake Bingo for the chance to win slices and whole cakes as prizes. Additionally, Eli's will offer 30 percent off some items all day long.

• At 5 p.m. Monday, an Eli's pastry chef will teach a cake-decorating class, providing a 7-inch pre-baked cheesecake and demonstrating how to turn it into a "mummy cheesecake."

Each seat in the class costs $20 per person, and participants must register in advance by calling 773-205-3800.

• All day Monday and Tuesday, anyone who steps into the eatery wearing a costume will earn a "free treat," staffers said.

The bakery is sporting specialty desserts, including "Mummy Cookies, Monster Marshmallow Cripsy Treats" and "Pumpkin-Shaped Pumpkin Spice Loaves," until the end of October.
