Car Thefts In Lincoln Park, Lakeview, North Center Spur Police Warning

LINCOLN PARK — The Town Hall Police District issued a community alert Monday about a dozen recent car thefts stretching from Lincoln Park through Lakeview to North Center.

According to police, someonene took the victims' cars while they were legally parked. The thefts took place overnight and at all hours of the day.

The thefts took place:

• Between 8:15 p.m. Sept. 18 and 6 a.m. Sept. 19 in the 2700 block of North Greenview

• At midnight Sept. 21 in the 1200 block of West Nelson Street

• At 9 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 500 block of West Aldine Street

• Between 9 a.m. Sept. 25 and 1 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 900 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue

• Between 9 p.m. Sept. 26 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 4400 block of North Ravenswood Avenue

• Between 9:30-10:40 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 600 block of West Belmont Avenue

• At 11:25 a.m. Oct. 4 in the 900 block of West Wrightwood Avenue

• Between 9:30-11:50 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 3300 block of North Halsted Street

• Between 1:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 in the 1400 block of West Montrose Avenue

• At 8 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 3300 block of North Bell Avenue

• Between 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of North Kenmore Avenue

• At 10 p.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of North Clarendon Avenue

Police asked residents to call 911 to report any car thefts with a description of the car. They also said to be aware of the series of thefts and warn neighbors.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
